Campbelltown Hospital by Billard Leece Partnership
Supplied by our sister company, DCA Facade, the $632 million Campbelltown Hospital Redevelopment – Stage 2 is the centrepiece of a major healthcare expansion in Sydney’s south-west, almost doubling the size of the hospital campus to serve the fast-growing Macarthur region. The 12-storey building houses an emergency department, intensive care unit, women’s health services and maternity suites, children’s wing, operating theatres and mental health unit.
Designed by Billard Leece Partnership and built by CPB Contractors, the project drew on the local flora of the Cumberland Plain to guide the colours chosen for the building envelope. A range of Tempio profiles were utilised to add depth, and variation on the facade.
The result is a match of award-winning architecture and best-practice healthcare. The redevelopment won the Mental Health Design and Interior Design and Arts awards at the European Healthcare Design Awards in London, with the Tempio facade giving one of NSW’s most significant public hospital projects a distinctive, durable and low-maintenance finish rooted in its landscape.
